People often ask why horses for a program such as EAL. Aside from the fact that horses are one of natures most sensitive creatures that can sense a humans emotions from a long distance away, there are many immediate answers to this question.

• Horses expect and respect teamwork. In nature, every member of the herd has a job to do and the rest of the herd relies on that member doing it well

• Horses are extremely sensitive and receptive to emotions and mannerisms of their teammate. Therefore they offer instant feedback to the situation they are in

• Horses understand boundaries and look for leadership to guide them.

• Horses cannot lie. They are honest in all their actions. This gives tremendous insight to both facilitator and participant.
